Canyons

BEFORE: The Canyons was a distressed operating company and real estate acquisition by Talisker. The 4.2M SF-4,700 acre resort with 1,500 hotel units was poorly-branded, underperforming and un-ranked as a ski resort with below average consumer experience and asset value.

AFTER: Canyons, reconfigured, repositioned, redeveloped, and technologically transformed, achieved a Top 10 nationally ranked year-round resort destination within 1 year. It was the recipient of Vail Resort management contract of +$25M in annual NOI, ultimately resulting in the acquisition of both Canyons and Park CIty Mountain by Vail Resorts.

Boardman joined Canyons Executive Committee and was responsible for real estate development, resetting the brand and its approach to the on-mountain digital environment, the mountain village arrival and lifestyle experiences, and the F&B offerings from Mountain to Main Street. Integrating across discipline lines with senior executive leadership and the operating team, the distress asset was relaunched into a nationally recognized, year-round resort.
